Position Overview
Renewal Energy Sector Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support gas generation project development within Engineering & Construction (E&C). This role will lead cross-functional activities spanning technology and commercial due diligence, FEED/preliminary engineering, procurement, project controls, risk management, and construction readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day management of gas generation development projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
- Support technology and commercial due diligence for combined-cycle, simple-cycle, and peaking generation projects.
- Evaluate constructability, site integration, utility interconnection, major equipment availability, and preliminary project costs.
- Identify and manage scope, cost, schedule, procurement, and constructability risks through project risk registers.
- Coordinate Engineering & Construction SMEs across project development, site reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Lead E&C involvement in capital estimates, project schedules, preliminary engineering, permitting, interconnection, and commercial activities.
- Partner with Integrated Supply Chain on RFQs, technical/commercial bid evaluations, contractor proposals, negotiations, and contract awards.
- Compare contractor bids against E&C estimates and identify significant cost or scope variances.
- Support schedule development, cost benchmarking, cash-flow modeling, and risk-adjusted cost analysis for project investment decisions.
- Provide regular project status, risk, cost, and schedule reporting to leadership.
- Drive process improvements and effective use of project management and risk-tracking platforms.
- Collaborate with executives, engineering teams, contractors, OEMs, public officials, and other internal/external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in energy project development, large capital construction, or related project management.
- Strong experience with EPC/EPCM project delivery, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
- Experience with gas generation projects and major equipment/EPC procurement.
- Proven experience with bid preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, early-stage development environments.
