About The Role We are seeking a skilled Mobile Software Engineer to join our dynamic mobile development team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining native applications on both iOS and Android platforms, utilizing Swift and Kotlin respectively. Your work will directly influence the user experience for event organizers and attendees around the world. Additionally, you will support our whitelabel customer apps and oversee automated build systems to ensure smooth deployment processes. Beyond mobile development, you will contribute to backend services and PHP APIs that support our mobile platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact features, participate in code reviews, and help set quality standards for mobile development at Sched. You will also be involved in incident response and system monitoring, ensuring the reliability and performance of our mobile applications. Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• At least 2 years of experience building and shipping native mobile applications
• Proficiency in Swift for iOS development
• Proficiency in Kotlin for Android development
• Experience managing app releases through Apple App Store and Google Play Store
• Strong understanding of platform-native UI frameworks such as SwiftUI, UIKit, and Jetpack Compose
• Experience developing mobile applications that consume REST APIs
• Proven ability to write automated tests (unit, integration, or UI)
• Comfort with navigating ambiguous requirements and making tradeoffs
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and handle production incidents
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining technical decisions to non-engineers

Preferred qualifications include experience with PHP in production environments, infrastructure operations (Linux, Docker, Kubernetes), AWS services, monitoring tools (Sentry, Datadog), offline-first patterns, Kotlin Multiplatform, and collaboration with UX/UI designers. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android features using Kotlin and Compose
• Develop and maintain native iOS features using Swift and UIKit
• Support whitelabel apps and manage automated build systems for them
• Integrate with platform APIs for push notifications, offline storage, background sync, and deep linking
• Debug and resolve production issues across various device types, OS versions, and network conditions
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and app store submission processes for both platforms
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API contract changes, versioning, and backward compatibility
• Implement new API endpoints to support mobile features
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to production incidents and ensure system reliability
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and crash reporting initiatives
• Conduct code reviews and improve test coverage across mobile platforms
• Document technical decisions, platform-specific patterns, and release procedures
• Identify opportunities to enhance team workflows and development processes
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to align on priorities and scope
• Communicate technical status, blockers, and tradeoffs effectively to stakeholders
• Prioritize tasks to deliver features that meet customer and business needs
