The Opportunity: Software Engineer - Events Team

Join the Events team - the backbone that enables AI, ML and Analytics teams across the organization. You'll be responsible for systems that ingests and processes billions of events per hour, such as seasonal insights

and LLM fine tuning. The event platform team is the foundation upon which all product insights are built. If you're excited about building and operating software at world-class scale, this role is for you.

As a Software Engineer on this cross-functional team, you'll own the ingress APIs, data pipelines, and downstream data products that power customer event telemetry. Working with both internal and external customers, you'll have broad impact across the company while collaborating with senior engineers to build systems that operate at world-class scale.

What you'll do:

• Build resilient, high-throughput data pipelines that are easy to operate and maintain
• Implement scalable APIs that allow downstream teams to consume data at massive scale while maintaining infrastructure integrity
• Create exceptional user experiences that enable customers to understand their data telemetry and optimize their use of our event infrastructure
• Leverage modern AI technologies - work with encoding, inference, semantic hashes to build personalized insights and predictive event enrichment
• Own features end-to-end from initial ideation through production deployment
• Ensure production resilience using comprehensive telemetry and alerting

You might be a fit if you:

• Have built and shipped meaningful products using Go - either independently or as part of a team
• Possess practical SQL experience and understand database fundamentals
• Thrive in distributed systems - comfortable diving deep into different stack layers to debug issues and improve system understanding, especially in high-throughput environments
• Can drive projects independently while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders
• Are autonomous and ownership-driven - able to make independent decisions and drive long-term project success

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with data pipelining infrastructure - Pubsub, Apache Beam, Spark, Airflow, etc.
• Understanding of ML concepts and their practical applications
• Track record of shipping features in collaborative environments
• Experience with developer-facing tools or APIs in production
• Experience with rapid prototyping and iteration

• Backend: Go (Primary)
• Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform - BigQuery, Pubsub, Kubernetes, CloudRun, Redis, Dataflow
• Frontend: React, TypeScript
