About the role

Job title: Product Owner – Education

Work type: Remote

Location: Australia

Employment type: Full-time

Salary: $120,000 base + super

About the opportunity

Our client is looking for an education subject-matter expert to join as Product Owner. You’ll be the voice of the classroom inside the product team. This is not a traditional product manager role: senior leadership owns overall strategy, and you’ll own what the product needs to do for schools and how it works in practice.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning detailed product requirements and end-to-end customer journeys for teacher- and school-facing features, from planning and assigning to monitoring and reporting
  • Spending regular time with schools to see how teachers and leaders actually plan, teach and use AI
  • Joining and leading demos with curriculum leaders and key decision-makers, explaining the product in curriculum and instructional terms
  • Capturing feedback, objections and emerging “DIY” patterns from schools, and distilling them into clear insights for the product and leadership teams
  • Shaping differentiated capabilities that schools can’t easily build on a generic LLM, such as curriculum alignment, instructional model checks and quality oversight of AI-generated resources
  • Maintaining and prioritising the backlog, writing clear acceptance criteria, and working closely with engineers to turn requirements and AI-assisted prototypes into production-ready features
  • Helping to document and systematise expert knowledge so it can be shared and repeated across the team

What you’ll bring

  • A background with an understanding of at least 3 of the following:
  • Selling into schools
  • Managing development teams
  • Curriculum in schools and it's implementation
  • Project management
  • Clear written communication and a collaborative approach to working with technical teams
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and how it’s changing teaching and learning

What’s on offer

  • $120,000 base + super
  • Fully remote, open to candidates anywhere in Australia (MUST HAVE FULL WORK RIGHTS FOR MINIMUM 12 MONTHS)
  • Real influence over a product used in schools, with a fast-moving business at the forefront of AI in education
  • A role built around your education expertise, bridging classrooms and technology
