Full Stack Engineer

Role: Contract Full-Stack Engineer (AWS / React / Python)

Location: UK Remote (you must be based in the UK to apply)

Duration: 6+ months

Rate: £475 - £550pd depending on experience, outside IR35

About the Role

Our client is developing a cloud-native SaaS platform that leverages modern AI technologies to deliver intelligent data processing and workflow automation.

As the platform enters its next phase of development, we are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Engineer to take ownership of key technical components across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.

This is a hands-on engineering role offering influence over architecture, scalability, and technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable SaaS applications
• Develop modern frontend applications using React
• Build secure and high-performance backend services using Python and Node.js
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices
• Develop scalable multi-tenant architectures with appropriate security and data separation
• Design, optimise, and maintain relational databases
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
• Integrate third-party services and AI-powered functionality where appropriate
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams using Agile methodologies
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical strategy

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' commercial full-stack software engineering experience
• Proven experience building and scaling SaaS products
• Strong AWS cloud architecture experience
• Advanced React development skills
• Strong backend development using Python and Node.js
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices

Desirable Skills

• Experience integrating AI capabilities into production applications
• Exposure to large language models or intelligent automation
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD platforms
• Experience with observability and monitoring solutions
• Strong understanding of application security, authentication, and data protection
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright
