About the role
Our client is an established tech company building a new consumer-facing mobile app with a modern React Native stack. The product is in an exciting early phase. You’ll join a small team, shape the technical direction from the start and help take the app to production and beyond.
What you’ll do
- Co-own and evolve the mobile architecture
- Design, build and ship features end to end
- Drive performance, reliability and quality across the app
- Help set engineering and testing standards
- Contribute to backend APIs where needed
- Support new team members as the team grows
What you bring
- 5+ years of professional experience, with at least 2 React Native apps shipped to the App Store and Google Play
- Deep React Native knowledge, including the New Architecture (Fabric, TurboModules)
- Strong Expo experience (EAS Build/Update, Expo Router) and strict TypeScript
- Proven ownership of architecture and technical decisions
- Experience with mobile performance tuning and testing (Jest, RNTL, Maestro/Detox)
- Experience with map SDKs is a strong plus
- A degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical education
- Comfortable using AI tools to ship faster
- Residence in Germany required
- EU or NATO citizenship required
Nice to have
- Node.js or Bun backend experience
- Geospatial or real-time data experience
- German at B1 or higher
- Open-source contributions to the React Native ecosystem
