About The Role

Maximus is seeking a Mid-level Front End Developer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and enhancing user-facing features of our applications, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating UI/UX design wireframes into functional code, optimizing system navigation, and implementing modifications to Graphic User Interfaces (GUIs). This position requires a strong technical background in front-end development, including experience with modern frameworks such as Angular or React, and familiarity with cloud and containerized environments like Kubernetes or Docker. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet rigorous security and compliance standards. This is a remote position requiring an active Secret clearance, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful government projects while enjoying flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Secret clearance or higher required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages
  • Experience with DevSecOps tool suites, microservices, and containerization
  • Proven ability to prepare, conduct, and document system tests to verify operability and compliance
  • At least 3 years of experience with bug tracking software such as Jira
  • 3 years of experience testing web-based applications
  • 3 years of participation in software development programs or projects
  • 3 years of experience utilizing TypeScript in Angular or React frameworks
  • Hands-on experience developing in cloud environments and containerized platforms like Kubernetes or Docker
  • Experience with integrating data across unclassified and classified application deployments
  • 5 years of experience with Jenkins and GitLab
  • Proficiency with at least five of the following tools: NPM, Cypress.io, esbuild, Bun, Apache Tomcat, Maven EXP, SonarQube
  • Recent and relevant experience in front-end web design and development
  • Strong understanding of agile, user-centric application design and UI/UX standards
  • Experience generating system wireframes and mockups considering multiple user personas
  • Proficiency with UX design tools such as Sketch and InVision

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering tasks related to front-end design and development, including creating technical design drawings, mockups, and wireframes for stakeholder review
  • Plan and implement modifications to GUIs to enhance usability and system navigation
  • Develop and optimize various UI elements to ensure operator ease of use for user-facing features
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into functional front-end components
  • Conduct system testing, document results, and ensure compliance with project standards and security protocols
  • Integrate data across unclassified and classified application environments
  • Utilize version control and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab to automate deployment and testing processes
  • Engage in agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Generate wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to support user-centric design approaches
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging front-end technologies and best practices to continuously improve development processes
