About the opportunity:
VictoriaMetrics Cloud is a hosted monitoring platform that provides a managed service for metrics that easily scales to billions of time series while keeping costs predictable. We serve organisations of all sizes with this service, which is growing in popularity. We’re now looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our team and help us shape our Product into a whole new level.
Role Overview:
As a Frontend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining solutions that enable the analysis of observability signals such as metrics, logs, and traces. Working hand in hand with the Technical Lead, you'll be developing powerful UI capabilities that will help users to understand their systems beyond the vmui product for VictoriaMetrics, VictoriaLogs, and VictoriaTraces software. This role mixes the mindset of an open-source developer developing publicly available software with maximizing value for a business solution, communicating with users, and focusing on usability. Last, but equally important, in the VictoriaMetrics Cloud team, we value team work above all.
Key Qualifications:
- 3+ years of engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Extensive hands-on experience with React ecosystem and TypeScript.
- Experience working with CSS modules, CSS preprocessors, and Tailwind CSS.
- Initiative and able to work independently, take ownership, and solve problems end to end.
- Understanding of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
The following experience and skills are considered a significant plus:
- Familiar with and user of some of the main observability projects: OpenTelemetry, VictoriaMetrics, Jaeger, Grafana, and Perses.
- Contributions to open-source projects, especially the ones previously mentioned, are a significant plus.
- Experience in optimizing UIs with a large number of visualizations
- Previous experience developing frontend in major Observability vendors.
