About Verge.io

Verge.io is transforming the virtualization landscape with our ultraconverged data center operating system, VergeOS. We help enterprises simplify infrastructure, reduce costs, and streamline IT management by tightly integrating virtualization, storage, and networking into a single, high-performance platform. We're a lean, technical team that ships fast and builds things that matter. If you want your work to run in mission-critical production environments, you'll fit right in.

Position Overview

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who is comfortable operating across the entire stack — from browser-rendered interfaces to low-level system integration. You'll work on VergeOS itself: a complex, distributed infrastructure platform with a vanilla JavaScript front end, deep Linux

internals, and a mix of languages on the back end. This is not a SaaS web app role. You'll be building deployed software that runs on bare metal in production environments where reliability is non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features across the full VergeOS stack, including the browser-based management UI and back-end services

• Build and iterate on the front end using vanilla JavaScript — no frameworks, just clean, performant code

• Write and maintain back-end services in Node.js, C/C++, or Python depending on the task

• Design and implement database schemas that support complex infrastructure data models

• Work closely with the platform engineering team to integrate front-end and back-end components with core VergeOS subsystems

• Debug production issues in deployed customer environments — often at the intersection of software and hardware

• Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical documentation

• Participate in ongoing development of AI-assisted tooling and workflows used internally

QualificationsRequired

• Proven experience as a full stack developer with strong JavaScript fundamentals — framework-free preferred

• Deep understanding of Linux: system architecture, process management, networking, storage subsystems

• Proficiency in one or more back-end languages: JavaScript/Node.js, C/C++, or Python

• Experience designing and implementing database schemas for real-world, production applications

• Ability to read, debug, and reason about complex, distributed systems

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote environment

Preferred

• Experience developing and shipping deployed software — not just SaaS — that runs in customer-controlled environments

• Background in infrastructure software: storage systems, networking, hypervisors, backup platforms, or container runtimes

• Experience building mission-critical software where uptime and correctness are requirements, not aspirations

• Exposure to distributed or clustered systems design and the tradeoffs that come with it

• Experience using private AI tools in a development workflow — inference, fine-tuning, or on-prem LLM deployment

What We Offer

• Competitive salary and benefits package

• Opportunity to work in a fast-growing company with cutting-edge technology

• Remote-first work environment

• Collaborative, high-performance culture that values innovation and technical excellence.
