Senior Software Engineer
Full Stack Developer (Frontend most important)
TypeScript or Express.js / Kotlin or Springboot / AWS
Initial 6 Month Contract
Fully Remote (UK Based)
£525-550 per day, Outside IR35

We're working with a UK Consultancy client who are putting a team together to deliver a high-profile Cloud-Native Government program.
We need Senior Software Engineers who hold active SC Clearance, and have good Full Stack experience with Kotlin, Spring Boot (Java), Express.js or TypeScript, AWS and Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. The Frontend experience is preferable.
Urgent Contracts starting ASAP, fully remote, paying up to £550 per day, Outside IR35. Initial 6 month engagement with long term extensions.
Tech stack:
Frontend (Frontend is the more important end of the stack for this role)
Building UIs using Express.js and TypeScript
GDS standards
Nunjucks
Integrating with the backend services
Backend
Developing and maintaining Kotlin APIs ( using Spring Boot)
Integrating with internal and external APIs using REST or similar protocols
Experience with event driven architecture
Cloud & infrastructure
Deploying and managing services in AWS (there is a managed platform team)
Writing infrastructure as code using Terraform
Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions (or equivalent)
Using containerisation technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes
Engineering practices
Strong focus on Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing
Comfortable with pair programming, peer reviews, and knowledge sharing
Writing documented, maintainable code aligned with the department and GDS standards
Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams and "working in the open"
Solid Frontend experience and attention to detail required
