Overview of the Role:

We are looking for a motivated Junior Web Developer to help with the creation, maintenance, and optimization of UK-based web apps and websites. This job is great for people who are just starting out in their careers and wish to improve their technical skills while working from home in an organized way.

The Junior Web Developer will work with experienced developers and project stakeholders to produce web solutions that are clean, responsive, and easy to use.

Main Duties

• Help develop and keep websites and web apps that work well on all devices
• Make sure your code is clean, well-organized, and easy to maintain.
• Support for updates, bug fixes, and basic feature improvements
• Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to meet design needs
• Help with testing, fixing bugs, and making things run faster
• Work together with designers, developers, and project teams
• Keep records of changes and updates to the code.
• Follow the best practices, code standards, and security rules.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar discipline (or the same amount of work experience)
• A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of how to make designs that work on all devices
• Knowledge of at least one backend language or framework, like PHP, Python, or Node.js
• A basic understanding of version control systems like Git
• Strong ability to solve problems and pay attention to details
• Good at talking to people and working from home
• Willingness to learn and improve in a professional development setting

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Some familiarity with WordPress or other CMS platforms
• Knowledge of REST APIs
• Academic projects, internships, or a portfolio showing web development work

Who can apply:

Range of Pay:

£30,000 to £43,000 a year, based on abilities and experience
