The Transformation Leadership Institute is expanding its advisory and consulting bench, and we're opening an expression of interest for a Transformation Program Lead to support one of our European clients. Six months, three days a week, Tuesday to Thursday. The role reports to Jess Tayel, Transformation Leadership Institute (TLI) Community Leader and Transformation Expert, who is engaged directly with the client's leadership.

The client is based in Germany and operates in Central European Time (GMT+1 in winter, GMT+2 in summer). Part of the week overlaps with their working hours for client meetings, shaping workshops, vendor sessions, and steering conversations. The rest is offline and asynchronous, including working sessions with Jess. Wherever you are based, you need to be comfortable holding a working rhythm that flexes around a European client. Fluency in English is a must. German is nice to have.

About the role

You will be working under Jess's supervision to shape and steer a complex business transformation for the client. The work moves between strategy, architecture, and execution depending on what the program needs that week. You will be helping the client see the whole picture, make the calls that matter, and hold the program together as it scales.

What you will be doing

• Shape the transformation approach under Jess's direction
• Pressure-test the roadmap and the assumptions sitting underneath it
• Design the operating rhythm and governance that keep the program coherent
• Client meetings, shaping workshops, and vendor sessions during European hours
• Asynchronous working sessions with Jess between client touchpoints
• Stay close to delivery so the program stays honest

What we are looking for

A minimum of 15 years leading complex business transformations end-to-end, ideally in regulated or enterprise environments. Industry experience is not required. What we need is multidisciplinary depth across:

• Change leadership
• Customer experience
• Business architecture
• Service design
• Business process reengineering
• Delivery
• PMO and governance practices
• Operating model design

This role requires multidisciplinary expertise, lived end-to-end, not concentrated in one area, with the rest outsourced.

• You are a change manager looking to stretch into transformation. This is not a change management role.
• You are a project manager who has run programs but has not shaped one. This is not a pure delivery role.
• Your background is advisory or high-level strategy consulting. This role is hands-on.
• Your experience sits inside a single methodology or framework.
• Your value proposition is being the smartest person in the room.

Practical details

Six-month contract, three days a week, Tuesday to Thursday. Daily rate between €1,500 and €1,800 depending on experience and depth across the disciplines. Remote, with working hours that flex around Germany's time zone.

Interview process and timing

This is an expression of interest, so the full process will not move immediately. Realistically, expect a couple of months before things progress, because we are aligning with the client's approval cycle. Once that approval comes through, the process moves quickly and will be completed within three weeks.

Shortlisted candidates can expect to hear from us for a first short interview with TLI, followed by a second interview with the client. Both will be remote. TLI is based in Sydney, so if you happen to be in Sydney, one of them may be face-to-face.
