About The Role We are seeking an experienced, product-driven Senior Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and enhancing our observability platform. This role involves working on highly scalable, distributed systems that process large volumes of telemetry data—including metrics, logs, traces, and events—in near real-time. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining core systems that enable our customers to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize their cloud-native environments effectively. Your work will directly influence how engineering teams debug production issues, improve system reliability, and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR). You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers and data scientists, to create efficient APIs and data models that handle high-cardinality workloads. Qualifications

• Extensive experience in backend programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or Rust
• Proficiency in designing and operating highly available, scalable distributed systems
• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Strong API design skills, including REST, gRPC, and GraphQL
• Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude) in daily development activities
• Background in building systems for ingestion, storage, indexing, and querying time-series and event data
• Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership from project inception to completion
• Excellent collaboration skills and a supportive team-oriented mindset
• Experience with data modeling strategies for high-cardinality workloads

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services capable of processing high-volume telemetry data
• Build and optimize systems for data ingestion, storage, indexing, and real-time querying
• Enhance the performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of distributed systems
• Collaborate with frontend and data science teams to design clean, efficient APIs
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions to shape platform growth
• Implement improvements to system observability and reliability, leveraging our own products
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of high standards and continuous learning
• Contribute to data modeling and system architecture strategies to support high-cardinality workloads
• Operate and troubleshoot complex systems handling real-world production traffic
