About The Role The Software Developer II at Sheetz plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and supporting custom applications that are integral to the company's operations and store environments. As a full stack developer, you will work across the entire software development lifecycle within a collaborative Agile environment. You will partner with cross-functional teams, including business and technology units, to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure solutions. Your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, modern JavaScript frameworks, SQL, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines will be essential to the success of this role. Additionally, experience with ServiceNow or Microsoft Power Platform is considered a plus. This position offers the flexibility of remote work within Sheetz's operational footprint, with quarterly travel to Claysburg, PA for planning and coordination meetings. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development and implementation
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript frameworks, SQL, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience developing secure software solutions, understanding industry standards such as OWASP, PII, and PCI compliance is a plus
• Experience working on large-scale software projects
• Professional certification in Java or related programming languages is highly preferred
• Knowledge of native mobile development languages such as Java or Swift is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to establish best practices and gather customer requirements for software solutions
• Design, develop, and implement new applications using approved programming languages to meet organizational needs
• Create and optimize SQL queries to support application functionalities
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, test cases, and release notes
• Demonstrate expertise in specific applications, systems, or development languages, whether open source, internally developed, or purchased
• Maintain and update existing applications and systems regularly to align with evolving business and customer requirements
• Analyze applications and systems to identify weaknesses, bugs, and areas for improvement; document findings and implement solutions
• Ensure software security by adhering to Sheetz’s Secure Software Development Guidelines
• Support coaching and training of team members to foster skill development and knowledge sharing
• Stay current with industry trends, new development tools, and emerging technologies relevant to Sheetz’s operational needs
• Provide troubleshooting and escalation support in collaboration with IT teams and external vendors to minimize business disruptions, including after-hours support as needed
