Product Owner Consultant

Working with a leading IT Consultancy who are looking for a Product Owner who thrives in agile environments and is confident leading teams to deliver user-centric digital solutions. This is a client-facing role that requires strategic thinking, clear communication, and the ability to balance technical and business priorities.

• Salary - up to £55,000 per annum
• Remote with occasional travel
• Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance (Been in the UK for the past 5 years with no more than 28 days out the country)
• No sponsorship will be provided for these roles.
• Candidates must have Government Digital Services (GDS) experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain the product vision, ensuring alignment with client goals and user needs throughout the delivery cycle.
• Own and manage the product backlog, working closely with business analysts to refine user stories and ensure that development efforts focus on high-value outcomes.
• Serve as the main point of contact during agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and review sessions, clearly communicating priorities and demonstrating results.
• Collaborate within cross-disciplinary teams that may include developers, analysts, designers, and stakeholders, offering support across roles where needed.
• Contribute to shaping product strategy and act as a decision-maker on product direction, balancing user needs with feasibility and timelines.

Your Background:

We’re seeking individuals who bring a mix of leadership, user-focused thinking, and agile experience:

• Proven experience contributing to product or service delivery projects that place users at the heart of the process.
• Understanding of agile methodologies, with a hands-on approach to iterative development and rapid delivery.
• Experience applying digital service standards (e.g., GDS) is beneficial.
• Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and stepping into roles like Business Analyst, Service Designer, or Scrum Master when needed.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead client discussions and demonstrate value effectively.
• Familiar with product ownership frameworks and ideally holding relevant certifications (e.g., PSPO, PSM).
