The Retail Energy Code Company (RECCo) is responsible for managing and evolving the Retail Energy Code (REC), which governs the interactions of parties involved in the Great Britain retail energy market. RECCo supports a broad set of stakeholders, including energy suppliers, network operators, and metering service providers, facilitating the effective delivery of their obligations under the REC. This makes RECCo a vital player in shaping the future of the energy market.
The Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing internal and external business change, planning, supervising and executing the delivery of RECCo projects to meet management’s strategic objectives and to ensure project delivery within budget and on time. Working in the Data, Technology & Transformation team the Project Manager will be supported by a PMO and subject matter expert resource for each project. Ideally the person will have experience in a technology-focused environment – whether that’s within a technology company or business undergoing significant digital change. They will also be used to managing data & digitalisation projects including data migrations.
What you’ll do
- Take overall ownership of delivering successful projects to time and budget
- Determine and defining project scope and objectives
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
- Deliver timely and accurate progress reporting
- Oversee delivery to time and budget
- Develop and deliver Test and Quality Assurance strategies
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
- Manage suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
- Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
- Monitor progress and adjusting as needed
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
- Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
- Work effectively with relevant stakeholders for efficient project implementation
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrable understanding of projects, project management principles, risk management and practices
- Solid project management experience, seeing projects through the full life cycle, ideally in a tech-driven environment
- Working knowledge of project management software tools, methodologies and best practices
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
- Evidenced experience completing projects according to outlined scope, budget and timeline
- Experience of managing data & digitalisation projects, ideally in a technology-focused environment or a business undergoing significant digital change.
- Experience of operating in a governance or regulatory environment would be advantageous as would experience of the retail energy market
