This company builds vertical SaaS for the high school athletics world, managing everything from athlete registration and eligibility to scheduling and payments. After a decade of dialing in product-market fit, it is at a real growth inflection, expanding deeper into its existing customer base with a major new payments and transactions push. The product is moving into its next generation, and this hire steps in as the first PM hire (aside from the VP) with direct access to the founders who hold the product vision and an engineering team that ships continuously.
What You Will Own
- Take over day-to-day product execution and planning sessions
- Build a customer discovery and feedback loop/pipeline from scratch
- Run customer interviews, synthesize themes, and validate direction
- Direct the UI/UX team (and keep them ahead of fast-moving engineering)
- Translate customer needs into clear specs and acceptance criteria
- Set engineering team deliverables (moving towards AI-assisted dev)
- Drive the next-generation payments experience forward
What You'll Need
This role is a strong fit for hands-on Product Managers who run their own discovery and work shoulder to shoulder with engineering.
- 3 to 6+ years owning products in a SaaS environment
- Ran customer interviews and discovery to shape roadmap
- Partnered closely with engineers to break down and ship work
- Thrived in fast-iteration teams shipping weekly or faster
- Mid-market or startup background, not large enterprise
- Scrappy, high-ownership, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
- Open to PM's with a technical background (has been an engineer) or a market-facing background
Plus Skills
- Payments or registration product experience
- Edtech, K-12, or school athletics exposure (or has been a coach!)
- Comfort working alongside AI-assisted development
- Located in the south with ability to be in office on occasion
