North Scout are working with a large UK organisation that is continuing to invest heavily in its Group Data capability as it builds a modern Azure-based enterprise data platform.

They are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing data team responsible for building and maintaining the core data infrastructure that supports analytics, reporting and advanced data use across the business.

This role sits within a newly established Group Data Office, where you will play a key part in designing and delivering scalable data pipelines and contributing to the development of the organisation’s Azure data platform.

You will be working on large-scale data initiatives, helping integrate data from enterprise systems, building robust pipelines, and enabling the wider business to make better use of data.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and maintaining Azure Data Lake and enterprise data storage solutions

• Building scalable ETL / ELT pipelines from a range of internal and third-party systems

• Working with Azure Synapse and cloud data services to support analytics and reporting

• Integrating APIs and external data sources into the wider data platform

• Collaborating with data, engineering and BI teams to support Power BI and analytical use cases

• Contributing to engineering standards, code quality and platform best practice

Tech environment

Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Azure DevOps, modern cloud data pipelines, APIs, JSON / XML, Python or similar languages, and enterprise-scale data platforms.

What they’re looking for

• Experience building cloud-based data platforms and pipelines

• Strong experience with Azure data technologies

• Good understanding of data architecture and enterprise data environments

• Experience working with APIs and integrating external data sources

• A collaborative approach and the ability to work across technical and business teams

Why this role is interesting

This is a chance to join a growing data function at an early stage of its platform journey, where you’ll be involved in shaping how data engineering is done across the organisation.

Alongside the technical work, the business is committed to developing its engineering capability and supporting long-term growth.

You can expect:

• Fully remote working within the UK

• Up to £85k salary plus bonus

• Enhanced pension and comprehensive benefits package

• Training budget and development opportunities

• Opportunities to attend industry conferences and events

• Exposure to large-scale, high-impact data projects
