About NatureCo
NatureCo is a for-profit, for-purpose organisation delivering nature-based climate solutions for investors, businesses and other purpose-driven organisations seeking to scale action on climate change and biodiversity loss. We specialise in high-integrity nature-based project development, including reforestation, agroforestry and ecosystem restoration.
Headquartered in Australia, with specialists based around the world, NatureCo works with a global network of partners and communities across the Asia-Pacific, Africa and Latin America.
Position overview
We are looking for a professional, commercially minded PMO Manager to establish and lead infrastructure-grade project controls across NatureCo's global project portfolio. Reporting to the CEO, this is a full-time role based in Australia and can be performed remotely.
With an initial focus on the Project Implementation of a large-scale Brazil Reforestation project, you will create a trusted view of schedules, contract commitments, budgets, invoices, risks, decisions and resource pressures. You will turn plans and contractual obligations into clear, owned work and give leaders and Boards concise, exception-focused reporting.
This is a hands-on integration and control role with no direct reports. Success will come through influence, disciplined follow-through and an ability to create structure without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Key responsibilities
- Establish NatureCo's practical PMO framework, including standards, templates, governance cadence, stage gates and decision pathways.
- Maintain the integrated project portfolio plan and master schedule, including contract milestones, dependencies, budget monitoring, critical paths and forecast dates.
- Own the control framework for project contract compliance and legal compliance with contracts, including obligations, notices, evidence, approvals and payment gates.
- Run risk, issue, assumption, dependency, change, action and decision controls, escalating material exceptions early.
- Coordinate project budget visibility, forecasts, invoicing milestones, supporting evidence and approvals with Project Leads and Finance.
- Produce concise leadership and Board dashboards covering delivery, contractual and financial performance, risks and decisions required.
- Lead adoption of NatureCo's project management system as the source of truth for live work, with SharePoint used for controlled evidence and records.
- Maintain capacity and dependency visibility, and coordinate assurance inputs without replacing specialist, financial, legal or delivery accountabilities.
Your skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience establishing or running a practical PMO, project controls function or complex programme office in a scaling or delivery-focused environment.
- Strong contract administration and compliance capability, including obligations registers, critical dates, notices, evidence and change control.
- Advanced planning and control skills across integrated schedules, Gantt charts, critical paths, RAID, dependencies and portfolio reporting.
- Commercial and financial literacy covering project budgets, forecast inputs, invoicing, payment gates and variance visibility.
- Experience implementing and improving adoption of a project management information system; Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, advanced Excel and scheduling tools are advantageous.
- Excellent written communication and stakeholder influencing skills, including executive or Board reporting and work across functions, partners and time zones.
- A hands-on, calm and pragmatic approach, with the judgement to challenge gaps, hold people to commitments and avoid over-engineering.
- Experience in nature-based solutions, carbon markets, international or multi-entity programmes is desirable; a relevant tertiary qualification or project management certification is advantageous.
