Role: Senior Development Manager

Location: Remote, UK (Sporadic travel to HQ & project sites)

Salary: 75k - 80k + 9k Car Allowance + Benefits

Link Talent Group are supporting our client, a leading UK-based IPP, with a Senior Development Manager hire. The role focuses primarily on onshore wind, alongside solar, BESS, and other renewable projects.

The Senior Development Manager will lead the development of utility-scale renewable projects, from feasibility and planning through to financial close, while supporting due diligence and acquisitions. This is a senior, hands-on role with opportunities to mentor and lead others within the development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full development lifecycle of onshore wind projects, with some exposure to solar and BESS, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Identify and assess new wind development and acquisition opportunities.
  • Oversee planning applications, land agreements, and stakeholder engagement for wind projects.
  • Support due diligence and M&A activity, including integration of acquired projects.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the development team and coordinate with internal teams and external consultants.

Skills and Experience

  • 5–10+ years’ experience in UK renewable project development, with a strong focus on onshore wind and a proven track record of delivery.
  • Strong technical knowledge of utility-scale onshore wind, solar, and BESS projects.
  • Experience in M&A, due diligence, or project financing.
  • Excellent understanding of UK planning, regulatory frameworks, and grid policy.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership experience, adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, environmental science, or related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant professional accreditation preferred.
