The Opportunity
The Business Analyst will be responsible for the methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation of all, or part of the business, in terms of business requirements, business processes, business functions, data and systems.
The core elements of the role will be the identification, definition and common understanding of requirements for improving processes and systems, reducing their costs, enhancing their sustainability, along with the quantification of potential business benefits.
You will work closely with Architecture, Project Management, Product Management and Engineering to understand the key business drivers, to provide business analysis services in support of projects and business as usual, to aid the achievement of Landmark Information Groups business goals.
The role will involve but will not be limited to:
- Understand and analyse Business problems or opportunities
- Research and analyse how segments of the business work, their end-to-end flows, supporting business processes, information, technology and participants
- Using standard business analysis techniques provide supporting diagrams utilising use cases, story boarding, scenario analysis, business process diagrams utilising BPMN2.0 for as is and to be
- Elicit project requirements and or add greater depth to existing business requirements using workshops, interviews, document/data analysis and other techniques
- Write requirements specifications, depending on the project methodology according to standard templates, using English language, simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely
- Document project / product scope and goals using Use Cases
- Prepare artifacts such as business scenarios, conceptual data models, conceptual data flows and impact assessments, as required for a project/product scenario
- Document the required attributes for common governed data entities within the landmark delivery standards
- Support the Product Managers
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to ensure common understand of the business situation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment to the business architecture, product management and engineering
- Assist in defining the standards and ways of working across the business analyst community
- Support development and test activities and participate in show & tells to ensure that the business requirements and user stories have been correctly interpreted and implemented to meet the business need
About You
You will have strong experience in business analysis including identifying and defining requirements, business process modelling & improvement, business context modelling with the ability to make the complex simple and work independently. You will be confident, articulate and a great communicator with all levels of stakeholders be it internal or external.
You will also have/be:
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be experienced in Business Process Modelling using industry standard techniques such as BPMN
- The ability to work in both waterfall and agile projects, understand the pros and cons for each and be able to input on the appropriate methodology dependent on the work
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, Jira, Visio and Confluence is highly desirable
- Experience of working with Architecture disciplines and assisting on increasing the Business Architecture domain is also highly desirable
