This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Software Engineering, Mobile Platform based in the United States. This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of mobile engineering, product innovation, and large-scale platform strategy. You will define and scale the mobile engineering vision for a high-traffic, consumer-facing digital ecosystem where mobile is the primary customer touchpoint. The role carries significant impact, shaping how millions of users interact with financial products through seamless, intelligent mobile experiences. You will lead the evolution of a native mobile platform, enabling faster product delivery, stronger system reliability, and improved customer journeys across multiple offerings. Working in a highly cross-functional environment, you will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, Legal, and Compliance teams to deliver secure, high-performing mobile solutions. This is a high-ownership role where your technical leadership and organizational strategy directly influence growth, user trust, and long-term platform scalability. Accountabilities

  • Define and drive the mobile platform vision, strategy, and long-term technical roadmap aligned with business and product goals.
  • Lead, scale, and mentor a high-performing mobile engineering organization, including engineering managers and senior individual contributors.
  • Oversee development of a robust native mobile application (iOS and Android, including React Native environments), ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Establish engineering excellence practices across mobile development, including CI/CD, testing frameworks, release management, and automation.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver seamless, customer-centric mobile experiences.
  • Define and operationalize key performance indicators to measure engineering efficiency, product quality, and business impact.
  • Drive architectural decisions and platform investments that support scalability across multiple products and future business expansion.
  • Ensure alignment across teams on prioritization, roadmap execution, and technical trade-offs to deliver high-impact outcomes.
  • Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices in mobile engineering across the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant leadership experience in mobile engineering organizations.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling large, high-performing engineering teams in consumer-facing, high-growth environments.
  • Deep expertise in mobile development, ideally across React Native and native iOS/Android architectures.
  • Strong technical background in scalable system design, mobile platform architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience working closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to deliver customer-centric mobile experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to define technical strategy, drive execution, and align engineering efforts with business outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering leaders.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to define KPIs, measure impact, and guide decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, testing strategies, and modern mobile delivery pipelines.
