HFS is currently seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in Eastern Europe with a passion for development and experience in rapid web application development technologies like Node.js, Nest.js, React, and AWS infrastructure. HFS is looking to grow its home improvement lending market share through excellent programs and web applications that provide a great experience for our customers and partners. This is a fully remote position that will be hired to work directly for HFS.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Lead Software Engineer to become an expert on our backend systems, our database infrastructure, our LOS API integration, and our deployment procedures.
• Work with the Lead Software Engineer in the software planning stages to design solutions that will meet requirements, balance time and scalability, and produce a clean and maintainable solution.
• Work with the Lead Software Engineer, Business Analyst, and Project Manager to clearly define tasks and to create accurate time estimates.
• Participate in our weekly software development cycle by completing assigned tasks that will include development and testing of code for both backend and frontend systems for new features, alterations, and bug fixes.
• Participate in all areas of testing as needed.
• Participate in weekly and daily meetings as required by management staff to facilitate planning, execution, and deployment discussions.
• Update information and track development time in our Agile process management tools.
• Aid the team in identifying process or software issues and resolving them.

Technical Skills

• A strong ability to understand and execute technical requirements, while being able to comprehend the business requirements driving the technical work.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Both the ability to operate independently in order to complete tasks and to work with the development team on shared and overlapping tasks.
• Excellent time management skills to stay on task and minimize distractions.

Required Technology ExperienceWe are looking for a software engineer with 6+ years of experience in the following technologies:

• JavaScript
• Node.js
• Nest.js
• React
• Redux
• Redis
• AWS Infrastructure (Containers)
• Git
• MongoDB

Additional Experience

• Previous experience in the loan or credit industry is a plus.
• Experience with Jira is a plus.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD is a plus
