AI Software Engineer Microsoft
Responsibilities
- Build AI‑enabled application components with Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI, including RAG patterns, grounding strategies, and safe prompt designs.
- Design and implement Copilot solutions with Microsoft Copilot Studio, including conversational flows, prompt engineering, orchestration logic, plugins/actions, and required integrations.
- Develop backend services and extensibility components (APIs, custom connectors, automation) using JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Python; integrate with Microsoft Graph, Dataverse, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and M365 extensibility (e.g., Teams).
- Apply cloud‑native and event‑driven patterns—stateless services, scalability, environment separation, and asynchronous messaging (e.g., Event Hubs).
- Deliver secure, end‑to‑end solutions covering authentication, authorization (Entra ID/RBAC/managed identities), environment strategies, lifecycle governance, and compliance with corporate data protection policies.
- Support DevOps and CI/CD for Copilot and AI assets: Git‑based workflows, versioning, automated testing, pipelines, and environment promotion/release management.
- Implement monitoring, telemetry, analytics, and performance optimization using Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and (where relevant) Power BI, ensuring reliability and continuous improvement.
- Apply Responsible AI practices—testing, evaluation, guardrails/safety, and continuous improvement of copilots and AI experiences.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable AI/Copilot architectures, producing design artifacts and implementation guidelines.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders; work with data engineers, platform, and security teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions; provide documentation, best practices, and handover/enablement materials.
- Microsoft Copilot Studio: Experience with conversational design, prompt engineering, orchestration flows, and plugin/action development.
- Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI solutions: Practical implementation of prompt optimization, RAG, grounding strategies, vector search, and safe production usage.
- Microsoft ecosystem integration: Strong integration skills across Microsoft Graph, Dataverse, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and M365 extensibility (Teams, Outlook).
- APIs, connectors & automation: Designing and building APIs, custom connectors, and automation workflows to extend Copilot and AI-driven solutions.
- Responsible AI & security fundamentals: Secure-by-design AI solutions using Entra ID, RBAC, environment strategies, data access controls, and governance alignment.
- Strong software engineering foundation: Hands-on development using JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Python, with clean architecture and scalable patterns.
- Cloud-native application architecture on Azure: Stateless services, event-driven patterns, and integration with Fabric / OneLake–based data platforms.
- DevOps for AI and application solutions: Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and environment separation.
- Monitoring, telemetry & observability: Use of Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and analytics (e.g. Power BI) to operate and improve AI-enabled solutions.
- Business-facing solution delivery: Ability to work with stakeholders, translate requirements into scalable Copilot and AI solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
