ABOUT THE ROLE

Forian is building a next-generation healthcare analytics platform that combines claims data with consumer intelligence to deliver actionable insights for pharmaceutical and life sciences companies. We’re seeking a talented Full-Stack Platform Engineer / Architect to shape the technical foundation and lead hands-on development of our claims and consumer intelligence platform. As our highest-ranking individual contributor in this specialty, you’ll own both the architectural vision and its implementation—designing scalable systems that not only surface insights through intuitive interfaces but also power integrations and workflows that turn those insights into meaningful action. You’ll work at the intersection of modern frontend technologies, robust API design, and cloud-native data infrastructure. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own Frontend Development: Design, build, and maintain responsive user interfaces using Next.js 14+ with App Router, React Server Components, and modern state management patterns. Create intuitive dashboards, query builders, geographic visualization tools, and multi-step activation workflows.
• Build Robust APIs: Architect and implement type-safe APIs using Node.js, tRPC or REST patterns that efficiently connect our Next.js frontend to Databricks-powered data layers. Design for performance, security, and maintainability.
• Integrate Data Visualization: Implement rich data visualizations including interactive maps (Leaflet/react-leaflet) or similar, analytics charts (Recharts), and real-time metrics grids. Optimize for large datasets with clustering, viewport loading, and progressive rendering.
• Design Component Architecture: Build reusable, accessible component libraries using shadcn/ui and Tailwind CSS. Create shared components like QueryBuilder, GeoTargeting, MapVisualization, and MetricsGrid that power multiple platform features.
• Implement Authentication & Security: Build role-based access control (RBAC), JWT-based API authentication, and MFA integration. Ensure all implementations meet HIPAA compliance requirements for healthcare data.
• Enable Platform Integrations: Build integrations with DSPs (The Trade Desk, Google DV360, Yahoo DSP, Deep Intent), CDPs (Tealium, Red Point Global, Salesforce Data Cloud), and CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) using REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with product managers, data engineers, and data scientists to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and agile ceremonies.
• Drive Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in code quality, testing, performance optimization, and documentation. Continuously improve our development workflows and tooling.

QUALIFICATIONS

We’re looking for a senior technical leader who combines architectural vision with hands-on excellence—someone who can design scalable systems and deliver polished, production-ready features:

• 7+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development with a strong focus on frontend technologies, including experience leading technical design decisions.
• Expert-level proficiency in React and TypeScript, with deep understanding of hooks, context, performance optimization, and modern React patterns.
• Strong experience with Next.js, including App Router, Server Components, API routes, and server-side rendering strategies.
• Proficiency with modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS preferred) and component libraries (shadcn/ui, Radix UI, or similar).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with Node.js, tRPC or GraphQL is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization libraries (Recharts, D3.js, Chart.js) and/or mapping libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox).
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization patterns (OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex issues across the full stack.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience working with Databricks, Spark SQL, or similar cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with healthcare data, HIPAA compliance requirements, or life sciences/pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience building B2B SaaS products, particularly analytics or data platforms.
• Experience integrating with advertising technology platforms (DSPs, DMPs, CDPs).
• Knowledge of identity resolution concepts and privacy-preserving data technologies.
• Experience with state management libraries (Zustand, Redux) and data fetching patterns (React Query, SWR).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Strong UX sensibility with the ability to translate wireframes and designs into pixel-perfect implementations.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
