Project Manager (Healthcare Payer)

Duration: 6 months

Duties:

• Manage and lead multiple strategic IT healthcare-related projects concurrently from initiation through implementation.
• Work closely with business owners to develop, motivate, and lead project teams.
• Facilitate creation and maintenance of project plans, including scope documents, timelines, work breakdown structures, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Manage the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across the project lifecycle.
• Track and reconcile actual resource usage against forecasts for both internal and external resources.
• Oversee project dependencies across the enterprise.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, and key decisions, escalating when necessary and developing contingency plans.
• Assess organizational impact of projects and collaborate with teams to address challenges.
• Prepare and deliver detailed status reports, highlighting conflicts or critical barriers along with recommendations.
• Lead project closure and conduct post-implementation evaluations.
• Provide team leadership, facilitation, and support for the business owners, ensuring effective project management practices.
• Build partnerships and foster collaboration between individuals and teams.
• Adapt effectively to a complex, dynamically changing project environment.

• Strong leadership, communication, and listening skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple IT healthcare projects simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of IT project management experience, including healthcare-related projects.
• Experience in the medical insurance industry preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams in strategic initiatives.
• Strong analytical capacity and facilitation skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• Four (4) additional years of project management experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Project Management Certification preferred.
