Front End Engineer / Developer (React Senior / Lead) London / WFH to £90k

You could be progressing your career as a Front End Engineer, taking ownership of the Front End for the core product, a financial operating system for live events which reduces queue times for customers and maximises revenue for vendors.
As the lead Front End Engineer you will lead the architecture and development of front end applications, primarily using React, ensuring performance, maintainability and scalability across web products, remaining hands-on with the code.
You'll collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into polished, accessible and responsive user interfaces and partner with backend engineers to integrate APIs, payment flows and real-time data.
You will have the autonomy to make critical technical decisions on front end tooling, architecture and build / release pipelines and mentor more junior front end developers, conducting code reviews and ensuring best practices.
Location / WFH:
Initially (first 6 months) you'll be expected to join the team in the London office 3-4 days a week so you can get a full understanding of the product and the team, following this there's lots of flexibility including the ability to work abroad for part of the year.
About you:
- You have experience as a lead or senior Front End Engineer / Developer, with advanced, hands-on skills in React
- You have a strong knowledge of modern JavaScript / TypeScript, component driven architecture and state management (e.g. Redux, Context API)
- You have experience building responsive, cross-browser, high-performance web applications at scale
- You're comfortable taking ownership and making the technical decisions
- You're keen to work in a start-up / scale-up environment, comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
- You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
