Product Owner – Supply Planning (SAP IBP/APO)Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner – Supply Planning to lead the delivery, enhancement, and ongoing support of enterprise Supply Planning solutions within the planning product line. This role requires strong technical expertise in SAP planning platforms such as S/4HANA, IBP, APO, or similar ERP solutions, combined with a deep understanding of supply chain planning processes.

The Product Owner will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that business requirements are translated into scalable, technically feasible, and high-value solutions. The role is responsible for managing the product backlog, driving agile delivery, and ensuring alignment between business priorities, enterprise architecture, and product strategy.

The ideal candidate will possess strong ERP planning knowledge, experience working in Agile environments, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders while delivering impactful supply planning capabilities.

Key Responsibilities :

Product Backlog & Roadmap Management

  • Own and manage the Supply Planning product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business value and strategic objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into Epics and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Drive roadmap planning and backlog grooming activities to maximize delivery efficiency and business impact.
  • Identify innovative product enhancement opportunities through development or third-party solutions.

Agile Product Delivery

  • Lead sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
  • Ensure all backlog items meet the Definition of Ready before sprint inclusion.
  • Validate that completed deliverables meet the Definition of Done before release demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

Stakeholder & Business Partnership

  • Act as the voice of Supply Planning stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Partner with supply chain, manufacturing, planning, and IT teams to align product capabilities with business requirements.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap progress, and solution value to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Manage customer expectations through structured planning, sprint playbacks, and transparent communication.

ERP & Solution Expertise

  • Provide subject matter expertise in SAP Supply Planning solutions including SAP IBP, APO, S/4HANA PP/DS, or equivalent platforms.
  • Assess system capabilities, planning logic, integrations, and master data dependencies.
  • Recommend scalable and sustainable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Support issue resolution by identifying root causes and coordinating with integration, master data, and IT teams.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Drive process optimization and agile maturity improvements within the product team.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in supply chain planning and ERP solutions.
  • Advocate for product team success and continuous operational improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Experience

  • 10+ years of IT experience with substantial exposure to Demand and Supply Planning solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP IBP, APO, S/4HANA PP/DS, OMP, or similar ERP planning platforms.
  • Strong understanding of ERP data structures, integrations, planning logic, and configuration principles.
  • Experience working within Agile software delivery environments using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to map business requirements for Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling processes.
  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Material Planning business functions.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.
  • Strong prioritization and backlog management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within CPG, Chemicals, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain industries.
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale ERP transformation programs.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning and material handling processes.
