As a member of our incredible team, here is what you’ll do: Arrive Health is hiring a Director of Engineering who has the leadership and technical acumen to manage technical managers. This person will oversee those who support our individual contributors. Candidates should be self-motivated and interested in actively collaborating to build a stronger and more effective technical management team. Among other things, here’s what you’ll do in this role:
- Collaborate with business leaders and management peers to develop and drive organizational objectives.
- Be accountable for overall planning, staffing, and execution of engineering efforts aligned with company goals.
- Develop and mentor new technical leaders.
- Manage technical contributors and managers.
- Conduct weekly 1:1’s, providing clear objectives and feedback.
- Enable career growth via coaching, career ladders, performance reviews, and other tools.
- Translate high-level business outcomes into a clearly defined technical program.
- Drive cross-functional process improvement.
- Foster a culture that is engaging and professionally rewarding.
- Focus on team building, team protection, and happiness.
- Drive innovation within the engineering department, exploring new technologies, best practices, and methodologies.
- Partner with Human Resources to effectively attract and recruit top talent in competitive markets.
- Ensure the quality, scalability, and reliability of engineering infrastructure and systems, while adhering to industry standards.
At this level, you will be expected to perform the following:
- Mentor potential and new leaders to ensure they understand the role of technical leadership.
- Guide the career development of technical leaders.
- Provide leadership across functional areas; act as a liaison between teams and orgs.
- Drive process improvement across organizational functions.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration, engagement, and ad-hoc problem solving.
- Take initiative to ensure successful outcomes of multidisciplinary efforts to deliver on company-wide strategy.

Ideal Qualifications We Seek In a Candidate
- 4+ years of experience in an engineering management or technical leadership role
- 4+ years of experience as a technical individual contributor
- A proven track record of managing managers
- A proven track record of handling difficult individual and team issues
- Mastery of servant or intention-based leadership styles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Mastery of leading Agile teams
- Broad technical experience

The Pay Range For This Role Is 188,233 - 221,450 USD per year(Remote (United States))
