About Accelerant

Accelerant is a data-driven risk exchange connecting underwriters of specialty insurance risk with risk capital providers. Accelerant was founded in 2018 by a group of longtime insurance industry executives and technology experts who shared a vision of rebuilding the way risk is exchanged – so that it works better, for everyone. The Accelerant risk exchange does business across more than 20 different countries and 250 specialty products, and we are proud that our insurers have been awarded an AM Best A- (Excellent) rating. The role

A backend heavy fullstack engineer who owns third party integrations and schema mapping end to end. This is not a forms and rates specialist. The person is accountable for the integration surface working, not for configuring a rating engine.

What the person owns

  • Own third party integrations end to end, from contract negotiation with the counterparty system through to production support.
  • Own schema mapping between external data shapes and the internal model.
  • Build backend services for the Agentic MGA pre bind flow, with enough frontend range to ship a working slice.
  • Work with the lead architect on integration and data design rather than receiving finished specifications.

Must have

  • Strong backend engineering. Backend is the centre of this role and frontend is the supporting skill, not the reverse.
  • Real ownership of third party integrations, including the messy parts: bad data, undocumented behaviour, unreliable counterparties.
  • Data modelling and schema mapping depth.
  • Insurance domain knowledge. The pre bind data model is genuinely complex and this seat is expected to carry that context, not learn it on the job.

Preferred, not required

  • Experience with agentic or LLM based systems in production.
  • MGA or program business exposure specifically, as opposed to carrier side only.
