Deloitte, one of the "big four" accountancy firms, is set to create 500 new technology jobs in Belfast over the next three years. This expansion is a direct response to the increased client demand and the evolving needs of UK businesses.
Key Highlights:
- Four dedicated technology centres will be established across the UK, with Belfast being the largest.
- Additional centres in Cardiff, Manchester, and Newcastle are scheduled to open next month.
- Training programmes will be launched to upskill new joiners, including non-technology graduates, career switchers, and those returning from career breaks.
Economic Impact:
More than 1,300 workers will be based in Deloitte's new Belfast office in the Ewart building on Bedford Street. This move is expected to significantly boost Northern Ireland's economy.
Richard Houston, Senior partner and chief of Deloitte UK, stated: "The firm's investment in Belfast underscores our confidence in the long-term economic prospects of Northern Ireland and our dedication to its continued success."
Jackie Henry, UK managing partner for people and purpose, added: "We have some amazing talent and technology skills in Belfast, making it an ideal location for one of Deloitte's new flagship technology centres."
