About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team supporting the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). This fully remote position involves providing DevOps support and implementing enhancements to PBGC's enterprise IT systems within the EBTS portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a versatile application developer comfortable with both front-end and back-end programming, working within an agile environment. You will analyze, design, develop, and test enterprise-wide web applications utilizing Java and JavaScript-based technologies. Your role will involve supporting the entire software development lifecycle using CI/CD and DevSecOps practices, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and best practices around coding, application design, and REST/API development. You will collaborate closely with product owners and team members to translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions, proactively identify issues, and mentor colleagues to foster a highly productive team environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex projects, learn new technologies rapidly, and contribute to impactful government IT initiatives. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in information technology or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of Java development experience, with strong expertise in J2EE, Spring Framework (Core, Boot, Data), and Hibernate.
• Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle 19c database, WebLogic 14c R2.
• Proficiency with Application Development Framework (ADF).
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, or SAFe.
• Strong programming skills in Java (8+), JavaScript, ReactJS, Redux, Vert.x, and familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, XML, and jQuery.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services using XML and JSON.
• Knowledge of multiple back-end languages including C#, Python, and JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Experience with automated testing tools like Selenium, Cucumber, Jest, JUnit/TestNG.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Ability to design solutions for complex, customizable applications and data-driven features.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a PBGC public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and test enterprise-wide web applications utilizing Java and JavaScript-based technologies.
• Support the full system development lifecycle within an agile framework, emphasizing CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
• Apply enterprise standards and best practices for coding, application design, and REST/API development.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with product owners and team members to discuss issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements.
• Proactively identify technical problems and work on resolutions, mentoring team members as needed.
• Design and implement Java-based solutions, including defining application objectives and functionalities.
• Develop detailed design documentation and provide support for application deployment and maintenance.
• Debug and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal application performance and stability.
• Recommend enhancements to existing Java infrastructure and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create user documentation and assist in training as needed.
