About The Role

As a Principal Frontend Engineer at Weave, you will serve as one of the company's foremost technical experts and a high-level individual contributor. This strategic role involves shaping the future of Weave's frontend systems, ensuring they align with long-term company goals. You will lead the technical vision for our frontend architecture, mentor engineering teams, and make critical decisions that impact the platform's evolution. Operating remotely within the US, you will collaborate across departments to solve complex problems related to performance, architecture, and user experience. Your expertise will help guide Weave through technological advancements and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable products that meet customer needs and business objectives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on modern frontend development
• Deep and/or broad technical expertise in frontend technologies
• Proven ability to operate across large organizations, mentoring engineers and improving projects beyond direct scope
• Experience in defining and driving technical strategy for complex systems
• Excellent technical judgment and strategic planning skills
• Experience making high-impact technical decisions focused on long-term outcomes
• Proactive, self-driven, with the ability to work across multiple domains and departments
• Strong understanding of frontend tools and frameworks such as React, React-Query, TanStack Router, Zustand, Electron, Cypress, Playwright, NX, pnpm

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction of frontend development for Weave
• Define and drive the technical evolution of Weave's frontend systems and core applications
• Mentor and collaborate with engineering teams to improve frontend projects and standards
• Identify and resolve complex problems related to frontend architecture, performance, and user experience
• Make informed, difficult technical decisions to ensure platform stability and scalability
• Align multiple teams and projects to ensure cohesive progress toward future success
• Inspire and influence teams to follow a comprehensive technical vision for frontend development
• Anticipate future frontend challenges and guide the company with extensive experience
