We're a platform that helps water startups and SMEs find specialised talent.

The UK water industry is heading for a crisis - and it's about people, not just infrastructure. 27% of workers are retiring in the next decade, only 8% are under 24, and over a third of skilled jobs can't be filled. Meanwhile, we desperately need 30,000 new water jobs by 2030 as £104 billion flows into infrastructure.

Climate change means we need better desalination, smarter water monitoring, more efficient treatment - all the stuff that small water tech companies are actually building. But these innovative companies are struggling to hire. Hiring costs are hefty but results aren't guaranteed. They also have to compete against other more 'glamorous sectors' as the water industry has an image problem. Young engineers think "water" means boring pipes and pumps, not cutting-edge climate solutions.

We're building a community where water companies and talent actually want to be. Companies post jobs completely free, removing financial barriers for innovative startups. Through targeted outreach and planned content (podcasts, newsletters, company features), we're making water tech careers appealing to young professionals who want meaningful work solving climate problems.

Role (Volunteer): Full-Stack or Back-End Engineer.

Role Description: Greensider is on a mission to solve the looming talent crisis in the UK water sector. We need a passionate volunteer engineer to help us build the foundational feature of our Minimum Viable Product: the candidate talent pool.

Your task is to enable job seekers to sign up and upload their CVs.

Key Responsibilities & Focus:

• Backend: Design the Supabase (PostgreSQL) data model, implement GDPR-compliant consent and data deletion logic, and integrate the resume upload and parsing engine to extract structured skills data.
• Full-Stack Bonus: Build the new candidate profile completion UI using Svelte/SvelteKit. (Backend-focused candidates can focus primarily on the core API and data work.)
