The company & product

Hospitality is one of the most operationally complex industries in the world. Margins are tight, waste is high, and frontline teams are constantly balancing staffing, demand and inventory in real time βš–οΈ

This company has built an AI-powered operating system for restaurants - by combining real-time operational data with predictive analytics, the platform helps businesses forecast demand, optimise labour, reduce waste and ultimately improve profitability πŸ“ˆ

The role

This is a production-first applied DS role focused on improving and maintaining the company’s core ML systems across forecasting, scheduling intelligence and inventory recommendations. This is a role for someone who enjoys building production machine learning systems that drive real operational decisions, not just experimentation or research.

What the team cares about:

  • End-to-end ownership (problem framing β†’ build β†’ deploy β†’ monitor β†’ iterate)
  • Excellent Python and SQL, writing maintainable code suitable for shared codebases
  • Practical applied ML experience
  • Strong grounding in statistics, experimentation or quantitative reasoning
  • Depth in classical machine learning methods such as forecasting, regression, classification and feature engineering
  • Experience monitoring models in production and managing issues like drift and reliability
  • Ability to connect modelling work to real business impact
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and commercial teams
  • Comfortable operating in a high-ownership, fast-moving environment
  • Measurable business outcomes (margin, automation rates, accuracy uplift, waste reduction)
  • Speed and judgement: MVP mindset, iterate in production

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in operational or forecasting-heavy domains such as logistics, workforce planning, supply chain, or similar
  • Experience working in a B2B SaaS environment
