As the Director of Engineering, you’ll own and evolve the core architecture of our platform, lead high-performing teams, and shape the technical roadmap of a company where engineering drives the business.

🔧 What You’ll Do

• Lead and scale multiple backend and full-stack engineering teams across payments, compliance, and platform services
• Drive the technical roadmap: own architectural direction for scalability, reliability, and developer productivity
• Shape engineering culture: build rituals, mentoring systems, and development processes to support a growing, high-bar org
• Partner deeply with Product & Compliance to scope and ship reliable, secure, and regulatory-compliant features
• Own delivery across multiple product lines: new payment methods, fraud prevention, identity, treasury systems
• Attract, retain, and develop top talent through coaching, feedback, and hiring best practices
• Establish technical excellence: push for high-quality code, observability, security, and developer tools

💼 What You Bring

• 8–10+ years in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in leadership roles (e.g. Senior Manager, Director, or above)
• Deep technical experience building scalable backend systems (bonus: payments, fintech, or regulated industries)
• Strong in system design, distributed architecture, and operational excellence
• Fluency in modern backend stacks (e.g. Java, Go, Node.js, Python) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
• Familiarity with payments flows: card issuing, ACH, reconciliation, fraud, PCI, KYC, etc.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering outcomes with tight regulatory oversight
• Experience scaling orgs from 10→30+ engineers while maintaining technical bar and delivery speed
• Excellent communicator and strategic thinker: you influence product, execs, and engineering peers alike

🧩 Bonus Experience

• Hands-on experience in a B2B or B2C fintech/payments environment
• Exposure to compliance-heavy domains (PCI-DSS, SOC2)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub) and API platforms
