About the Role

My client is seeking a talented Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer based in Ireland to join their high-performing globally located team. You'll play a key role in designing and developing scalable data platforms that power modern financial markets infrastructure. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll work on genuinely interesting technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance databases and data platforms
• Architect complex data solutions from conception through deployment
• Build intuitive GUI tools for data visualization and user interaction
• Maintain and optimize critical data services with a focus on reliability
• Manage data security, backups, and compliance requirements
• Integrate and manage third-party data sources
• Participate in on-call support rotations

Essential Experience:

• 5-10 years working as a data engineer
• 5+ years of professional experience with KDB+/Q
• Strong Python skills
• Advanced Linux proficiency
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong communicator and collaborative team player
• Adaptable and eager to take on diverse challenges

Bonus Skills:

• KX Dashboards experience
• Java or C++ knowledge
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
• Understanding of financial products, particularly equities would be a bonus
