About The Role
We are seeking an experienced C++ Software Engineer II to join the Common Systems Software team. This role focuses on developing software for control systems used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including real-time control of robots, motors, generators, pumps, flow controllers, and sensors. The ideal candidate will have strong professional experience with C and C++ and the ability to work on complex software systems involving real-time control, embedded programming, motion control, multithreading, and hardware/software integration. You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and prototyping through development, testing, troubleshooting, and customer support.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software for complex semiconductor equipment control systems
- Develop and maintain high-quality C and C++ software
- Troubleshoot complex software problems and implement effective bug fixes
- Design and prototype software user interfaces
- Develop software specifications and technical documentation
- Create test plans for simulators, test benches, and laboratory environments
- Develop and maintain software documentation and test procedures
- Analyze software behavior and troubleshoot issues across complex systems
- Work with internal and external customers to understand requirements
- Support software troubleshooting and project scheduling activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable software solutions
- Apply technical judgment to evaluate multiple possible solutions
- Contribute to software technologies involving control systems, data collection, analytics, and machine learning where applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 3+ years of professional experience
- OR Master's degree in a related technical field with 1+ year of professional experience
- Professional experience programming in C and C++
- Strong understanding of software development principles and debugging techniques
- Ability to solve moderately difficult to complex technical problems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate information from multiple technical sources and develop effective solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build consensus across engineering teams

Pay range and compensation package
- Annual salary range of $124,000–$171,000
