Role Description
This is a part-time role for a QA Tester / Automation Engineer. The position is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through manual and automated testing processes. The role focuses on identifying defects, improving testing efficiency, and supporting the delivery of stable and high-performing software solutions.
The QA Tester / Automation Engineer will participate in the software development lifecycle by reviewing requirements, preparing test cases, executing functional and regression tests, and documenting testing results. Responsibilities include identifying bugs, tracking issues, validating fixes, and collaborating with development teams to improve software quality and system performance.
The role also involves developing and maintaining automated testing scripts to streamline testing workflows and improve release efficiency. Daily activities may include performing API testing, UI testing, cross-browser testing, and supporting continuous integration and deployment processes. The engineer will work closely with developers, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure applications meet functional, technical, and user experience requirements.
This position plays an important role in maintaining product quality and supporting efficient software delivery within a flexible part-time working structure. The QA Tester / Automation Engineer contributes to continuous improvement by enhancing testing strategies, increasing automation coverage, and improving defect prevention processes.

Qualifications
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, QA processes, and defect management principles
- Familiarity with manual testing, regression testing, functional testing, and system validation
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar frameworks
- Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#
- Understanding of APIs, databases, and software development lifecycle concepts
- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms
- Ability to create and maintain automated test scripts and testing documentation
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to software quality
- Good communication and collaboration skills within technical and cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Ability to manage multiple testing tasks and deadlines within a part-time working environment
