We are looking for someone to add a bit of gaming fun to our website and live family oriented work. Experience with Java and PHP required.
What difference will you make?
The People's Theatre Company always strives to innovate with it's live performance work. We were the first organisation to blend live action, puppetry and animation in a family stage musical and now we want to add gaming to create a new, fresh and exciting experience for our audience in theatres.
We are also a charity and take our outreach and other charitable commitments seriously. As such we offer a host of free resources for schools, families, children and aspiring theatre artists but they are underused and part of the reason for this is that we don't have a lot of traction and retention on our web site at www.ptc.org.uk. ;
One of the ways we know we can fix this is to provide visitors to our web site with actions and activities to engage with. Games are a great way to do this as well as a healthy way to encourage people to interact more with us and our work. It will also link the live experience to the online one which is a desirable outcome.
Ultimately we want people to use our facilities and enjoy what we do so if that excites you please drop us a line.
What are we looking for?
The ideal applicant will be experienced with Java and PHP and able to design and build a game from the ground up.
When the game is ready you will need to be able to upload it and check it or compatibility and bugs.
Remote
What will you be doing?
You will be working with our Artistic Director to devise and create simple, fun games for children to play on our web site and potentially as a part of our touring work.
You can work from home in your own time and at your own convenience to deadlines that are mutually agreed as manageable.
We can provide a host of characters and related artwork to populate the games and the games can be anything from a simple find the pairs game to something more complex. You would have total creative control alongside support from our artistic director.
If this sounds like fun please get in touch.
