About Telmi
Telmi is an early-stage EdTech startup building a platform that helps learners develop speaking, confidence, and thinking skills through podcast-style activities used in schools, clubs, and at home.
We have a working prototype, pilot schools ready, and a fast product iteration cycle. We’re now looking for a strong full stack engineer to help us turn the product into a stable, production-ready platform.
About the role
This is a hands-on full stack engineering role working directly with the founders.
You will help build and improve core product features, strengthen the codebase, and contribute to meaningful parts of the system. This role reports to a fractional CTO / Tech Lead who will support technical decision-making, code quality, and mentorship as the product scales.
Responsibilities
- Build product features end-to-end across frontend and backend
- Improve prototype code into clean, maintainable production code
- Contribute to product areas such as recording, activities, dashboards, and internal tools
- Integrate third-party APIs and services
- Implement product analytics and instrumentation
- Collaborate closely with founders on product and UX decisions
- Help improve engineering quality as the product grows

- React / Next.js
- Supabase
- Vercel
- Browser-based audio processing
- Planned AI integrations
We also use AI-assisted development tools including Claude, Cursor, and v0.dev as part of our workflow.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of software engineering experience
- Strong JavaScript / TypeScript skills
- Strong React experience
- Experience building APIs and working with databases
- Comfortable working independently in an early-stage startup environment
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day engineering work
Nice to have
- Supabase experience
- Experience building MVPs or early-stage startup products
- Product-minded engineering approach
- Experience with audio or media workflows
- Experience improving and stabilising an existing prototype

Working arrangement
- Remote

Compensation
$2,500–$3,500/month contract + potential equity for a strong long-term fit
