About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - COMMERCIAL NAVIGATION will lead the development of navigation features that help fleets convert planned tasks into safe, efficient, and visible guided trips. This role encompasses work across mobile applications, backend services, and web interfaces to create integrated navigation experiences for drivers and fleet managers. The position contributes by solving complex technical challenges involving real-time data and dynamic environments, enhancing operational efficiency and safety for commercial fleets.
Responsibilities:
- Own navigation features from design through production and monitor post-launch adoption and impact.
- Develop maintainable, well-tested code and uphold high standards in design and code reviews.
- Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to enhance engineering processes.
- Improve system observability, testing, and reliability of navigation services.
- Design and implement features across mobile, backend, and web platforms.
- Define clear objectives and success metrics by engaging with users and product teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, designers, and related partners.
- Promote and embody the organization’s cultural principles focused on customer success, long-term building, growth mindset, inclusivity, and teamwork.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 6 years of experience developing customer-facing software across multiple platforms.
- Proficiency in contributing to mobile, web, and backend systems with strong expertise in at least one area.
- Competency in using AI development tools with sound judgment.
Ideal qualifications include:
- Experience with mobile app development, including React Native, Swift, and Kotlin.
- Demonstrated long-term ownership of shipped features.
- Domain knowledge in logistics or industrial IoT, particularly involving mobile applications for drivers or field workers and familiarity with geospatial or mapping technologies.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- The range of annual base salary varies based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
- This role is eligible for an initial Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) grant with no vesting cliff and ongoing refresh opportunities.
