About The Role We are seeking an experienced Lead Front-End Engineer to join our expanding team at Surefront. This role is ideal for a passionate developer who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is eager to contribute to both technological innovation and company growth. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering leadership and product teams to implement new features and optimize existing ones. As a key member of our cross-functional agile development team, you will be responsible for making architectural decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring code quality through rigorous reviews and testing. Initially remote, this position offers flexibility and will eventually be based out of California once circumstances permit. The role provides a unique opportunity to influence product direction, mentor talented engineers, and be part of a company that values ownership and proactive contribution. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with React or equivalent front-end frameworks
  • 1+ year of active leadership or managerial experience in a technical team
  • Strong proficiency in React with Redux, TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Extensive experience with responsive design and implementation
  • Solid knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Previous startup experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills
  • Permanent resident of California

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather and review product requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Lead the development of a React/Redux single page application, ensuring high performance and scalability
  • Make architectural decisions regarding front-end frameworks, design patterns, and libraries
  • Implement comprehensive testing strategies to maintain code quality and reliability
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and suggest improvements aligned with industry best practices
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers, and design teams to deliver seamless user experiences
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Participate in hiring processes by interviewing potential candidates
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into the product
