Job Role: AI Solutions Engineer

Location: Fully Remote (UK) + travel to UK sites periodically

Salary: £65,000–£75,000 + benefits (negotiable for the right person)

Our client is on a mission to shift from a traditional hardware-first business to a data and services-led organisation. Over the next 5 years, they want data and AI to be core to how they create value, drive efficiency and prepare the business for success.

The AI Solutions Engineer will turn real business pain points into practical AI solutions. This isn’t about building bespoke LLMs in a lab. It’s about listening to the business, understanding their world, then designing low‑code / AI‑powered workflows that save time, reduce cost and unlock new revenue.

You’ll report to the Head of Data & AI and be one of the first hires in a new growing capability.

The AI / data enablement team is in its infancy. You’ll be in at the ground floor, influencing standards, patterns, and how they scale.

What you’ll be doing

  • Automating manual, repetitive processes
  • Surfacing new commercial opportunities using AI
  • Curating and prioritising AI ideas from across the business
  • Designing safe, reliable AI workflows
  • Enabling self‑service over time

What we’re looking for

You might currently be

  • A data analyst or analytics engineer who’s been hands-on with AI and automation
  • A software / internal tools developer who’s started building AI-driven workflows
  • A technically minded business / product person who’s delivered AI or automation projects recently

Experience needed

  • Proven experience gathering requirements from non‑technical stakeholders and turning them into working AI workflows/solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with low‑code / no‑code or automation tools.
  • Integrating with business systems (ERP/CRM such as D365 is a plus)
  • Solid understanding of how modern AI systems work in practice, including - Prompting and orchestration at a basic level and Risks: hallucinations, PII exposure, data segregation, reliability.
  • Ability to prioritise by business value
  • Strong communication skills

This role is about making practical, understandable AI real inside a complex, heritage business.

Renumeration

  • £65,000 - £75,000 per annum
