Product Owner - Courts

This organization is a technology-driven software application company providing enterprise management software solutions across private and semi-private club, foodservices, construction, metal service centers, moving & storage, and attractions & leisure, fitness & sports industries. With multiple respected brands, it serves over 8000 customers in 15 countries and operates offices in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean. The Product Owner - Courts role involves managing internal projects within the Product team, overseeing product planning, quality assurance, and documentation around product releases. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to meet customer satisfaction and align product outcomes with the organization’s strategy. This role also acts as an industry consultant for private club staff on racquet and athletic software, reporting to the Head of Product and managing 1-2 QA Analysts.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee product development from ideation to deployment

• Ensure on-time, on-budget product launches that meet customer expectations

• Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends

• Prioritize features aligned with strategic goals to focus the product roadmap

• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and other teams for product launch and management

• Participate actively in sprint planning meetings

• Create Product Requirements Documents with prioritized features and justifications

• Design wireframe mockups for enhancements and new product interfaces

• Manage QA resources to meet user expectations and address bugs and product enhancements

• Run beta and pilot programs, including client enlistment, training, and collaboration

• Write internal and external product release notes and agreement language for new products

• Continuously monitor and optimize products to maintain competitiveness and meet evolving needs

• Represent the product at tradeshows, webinars, demos, and occasional client site visits

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience as Product Owner, Manager, or Analyst

• Familiarity with the private club industry

• Strong communication skills to convey product vision, strategy, and progress; comfortable leading webinars

• Ability to balance client and business needs effectively

• Skilled at translating user and business requirements into detailed specifications

• Proficient in conflict resolution and problem-solving

• Evidence-based decision-making and rigorous prioritization abilities

• Ability to say “no” with clear explanations understood by stakeholders

• Transparency in prioritization and roadmap processes

• Proven success in defining and launching products

• Technical background with software product management experience

• Understanding of UI and UX best practices

• Strong teamwork and cross-functional influence skills without formal authority

• Experience working with external third parties on partnerships and integrations

• Entrepreneurial, self-starting work style

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

• Ability to work well with designers and engineers

• Skilled at tactfully communicating progress to senior management

• User advocacy and understanding of user motivation

• Comfortable managing change and ambiguity with composure under pressure
