Data Engineer

About the Opportunity:

The organization is building foundational infrastructure to support decentralized protocols and blockchain technologies. This team is seeking a Data Engineer to design and execute the next iteration of data systems, focusing on web3 analytics at web2 scale, reliability, and efficiency. The role involves processing high-volume data, partnering with technical and cross-functional teams, and becoming an expert in the Sui blockchain''s data structures.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain foundational data models as the single source of truth for analytics

• Build and maintain data pipelines using reusable and modular frameworks

• Ingest data from internal sources (e.g., production databases, application logs, cloud buckets) and external APIs or files (e.g., CSVs, webhooks)

• Create new data models for experimentation, ad hoc analysis, and automation

• Enable sharing and syncing of internal data with external partners

• Improve data discoverability, usability, and governance for data scientists, engineers, and product teams

• Define and implement data quality checks, validation pipelines, and alerting for data issues

• Partner with internal and external teams to drive best practices for indexing, storing, and transforming SUI blockchain data

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in data engineering

• Advanced SQL proficiency for data transformation, querying, and optimization

• Intermediate Python skills for scripting, automation, and building scalable frameworks

• Experience with data pipeline tools such as dbt, Dagster, Airflow, or similar

• Familiarity with version control (Github), CI/CID, and modern development workflows

• Preferred: prior blockchain data experience, knowledge of data lake/warehouse architectures, and experience with queues and streaming data frameworks
