We are seeking an experienced Project Development Senior Manager to lead end-to-end development of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Australia. This role will oversee greenfield, brownfield and RTB (Ready-to-Build) opportunities, ensuring projects progress through feasibility, land acquisition, permitting, grid connection, commercial structuring and pre-construction readiness.

This is a strategic role suited to a development leader who understands the complexities of Australian large-scale renewable projects and is confident navigating both technical and commercial workflows, stakeholder management and regulatory processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Development (Greenfield / Brownfield / RTB)

• Lead end-to-end development of large-scale solar + BESS projects from site identification to RTB stage.
• Manage feasibility studies, environmental assessments, planning approvals and permitting pathways.
• Oversee land acquisition negotiations, landowner management and site control documentation.
• Lead project scheduling, risk assessments, cost evaluation and development budget oversight.

Grid Connection & Technical Coordination

• Manage grid connection applications, NSP/AEMO engagement, modelling and compliance processes.
• Coordinate internal engineering teams and external consultants to ensure technical deliverables meet Australian standards.

Stakeholder & Government Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, councils, regulators, transmission operators and industry partners.
• Represent the business in key planning discussions, consultation processes and development negotiations.

Commercial Structuring

• Support financial modelling, project valuation, offtake strategy and investment decisions.
• Provide inputs for JV structures, EPC/Supplier selection, and project commercial analysis.

Internal Leadership

• Collaborate closely with BD, engineering, legal and investment teams to advance the development pipeline.
• Prepare executive reports, development updates and investment committee papers.

Required Experience & Skills

• 7–12+ years’ experience in utility-scale solar, BESS or renewable energy project development in Australia.
• Proven track record delivering greenfield, brownfield or RTB renewable projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian planning frameworks, environmental approvals and grid connection processes.
• Demonstrated capability in land acquisition, stakeholder engagement and community consultation.
• Experience working with NSPs, AEMO and technical consultants on grid-related matters.
• Strong commercial acumen with exposure to project financing, due diligence and financial modelling inputs.
• Ability to lead cross-functional internal and external teams.
• Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is essential due to frequent collaboration with APAC and global stakeholders.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Renewable Energy or related field.
