Data and Analytics Project Manager - 6 month FTCRemote with regular travel to other locationsAbout Mecsia Mecsia is a leading UK provider of technical inspection, maintenance, and engineering services, aiming to transform the industry with a 'Local Service, National Reach' approach. The company has grown significantly through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, including seven business units serving large clients in different sectors including Commercial offices, healthcare and educational facilities. Under private equity ownership since 2020, Mecsia has expanded to approximately 1,600 employees, including 900 engineers. In 2024, Mecsia was acquired by Synova, recognised as PE house of the year for four of the last seven years, who supports an ambitious growth strategy through service excellence and further acquisitions. About The Role The Project Manager is a role within Mecsia’s IT function, reporting directly to the Group CIO. This role provides the project management structure and delivery momentum needed to accelerate Mecsia’s data warehouse project. The data warehouse initiative started in 2025 and, working with a 3rd party, we have established a cloud-based data lake infrastructure in Azure using Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Azure Data Factory, and Power Automate. The focus now is getting the content in. This is not a technical development role. It requires a structured and disciplined Project Manager with experience in Data Warehouse projects in complex system environments. Key ResponsibilitiesData warehouse project delivery

  • Act as the primary resource supporting the delivery and momentum of Mecsia’s data warehouse project
  • Work with the external delivery partner to ensure that the technical deliverables are clearly understood and prioritised
  • Track project progress, dependencies, and blockers, escalating to the CIO as required, and update Project Steering Committee on a regular basis

KPI Requirements And Data Source Discovery

  • Engage with Mecsia’s senior leaders (finance, operations, commercial, HR) to capture and validate KPI and reporting requirements
  • Work with each operating company to identify what data exists, where it is held, and how accessible it is
  • Identify gaps where required data does not exist or cannot be extracted in a usable form, and work with stakeholders to define remediation options
  • Establish and maintain a data source inventory that informs the onboarding pipeline for the external delivery partner

Data quality and governance

  • Work with business owners to establish data definitions, taxonomies, and ownership for key datasets and a ongoing data accuracy culture
  • Support the development of data governance standards that are practical and appropriate for a multi-entity group

Analytics and insight delivery

  • Lead and drive external delivery partner(s) and internal stakeholders to define and prioritise dashboard and reporting outputs in Power BI or equivalent tooling

Stakeholder engagement and communication

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for operating company leaders on data and analytics matters
  • Communicate progress, priorities, and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Produce clear programme updates, reporting packs, and executive summaries for the CIO and senior leadership team

EssentialSkills and Experience

  • Proven experience in Project Delivery in Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence projects
  • Hands on experience with data management, analytics, or business intelligence role, ideally within a multi-site or multi-entity organisation
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lake, and analytics concepts, including ETL/ELT pipelines and data modelling principles
  • Strong stakeholder management skills — able to engage credibly with senior business leaders and operational teams alike

Desirable

  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and tooling, such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, dbt, or Power Automate
  • Experience working alongside technical data engineering or data science teams
  • Experience in the facilities management, inspection, maintenance, or engineering services sector

Qualifications & Education

  • Degree-level education in a relevant discipline (e.g. data science, business analytics, information management, computer science, or a numerate business subject) — or equivalent practical experience
  • A recognised project management qualification is strongly preferred; relevant certifications include (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, etc.)
  • Professional development in data, analytics, or AI is advantageous (e.g. Microsoft Power BI certifications, DAMA CDMP, or equivalent data management qualifications)

Personal attributes

  • Commercially minded — focused on delivering insight that drives business outcome, not data for its own sake
  • Structured and organised — able to manage multiple workstreams and competing stakeholder priorities
  • Strong attention to data quality and accuracy, with a low tolerance for ‘good enough’ in analytical outputs

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Enjoy 25 days of holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Contribute to the Company Pension Scheme
  • Wellbeing benefits include 24/7 access to a GP
  • Employee discounts i.e. gym memberships, high street shops
  • Individual recognition schemes with rewards
  • Employee referral scheme

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, colour, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability.Need more info?
