Senior Software Engineer (AI-Native Development)
Remote, with occasional travel to Dallas
Full-Time position
Budget: up to 170,000USD/annum + stock options and other benefits
We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a team building complex, production-grade systems at scale.
This is not a traditional principal engineering role. We're specifically looking for someone who has embraced AI-native software development and spent the last few years leveraging LLM-powered coding assistants, agent-driven workflows, and AI-enhanced engineering practices to accelerate delivery and improve software quality.
You'll remain deeply hands-on, designing and building distributed systems while helping shape how modern engineering teams operate in an AI-augmented world.
Senior Software Engineer - Responsibilities:
- Designing and building scalable backend and distributed systems
- Delivering production-ready software across the full development lifecycle
- Using AI tools daily for coding, debugging, refactoring and testing
- Leveraging agent-based workflows to improve engineering productivity
- Optimising performance, reliability and scalability of existing systems
- Working closely with product and engineering teams to deliver business-critical features
Senior Software Engineer - Requirements:
- ~15 years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot ecosystem
- Deep experience with distributed systems and backend architecture
- Production experience with AWS and PostgreSQL
- Strong understanding of secure software development and cybersecurity best practices
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agent-based development workflows
- Passion for shipping high-quality software quickly and efficiently
(BONUS POINTS):
- FinTech, payments, trading or financial systems experience
- Experience building developer tooling or engineering platforms
- Exposure to autonomous coding agents and AI-driven software delivery
