Backend Engineer, Flag Delivery

For our client, we are seeking a Backend Engineer Flag Delivery to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $145,500 – $200,090 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and operate streaming and polling infrastructure for feature flags
• Own and manage projects from design to production and operational support
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues within on-call duties
• Write maintainable code and participate in code reviews and design discussions
• Enhance the observability and reliability of owned code
• Collaborate across teams including SDK Engineering and Data Platform on multi-faceted work
• Expand knowledge in distributed systems through mentorship from senior engineers
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience in production services
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Rust, Python, Java)
• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, concurrency, API design, and testing
• Experience in debugging production issues with willingness to participate in on-call rotations
• Comfort with observability tools and analyzing technical metrics
• Effective communicator with the ability to tackle ambiguous tasks and receptive to feedback
